The LUSO-BRAZILIAN FINANCE NETWORK 

is an informal network of Finance researchers from Brazil and Portugal. The main goal of the Network is to reinforce the existing links between Finance researchers from Brazil and Portugal. Other researchers interested in interacting with these two communities are also welcome.

The Luso-Brazilian Meeting

Since its foundation in 2007, The LUSO-BRAZILIAN FINANCE NETWORK has organized 14 meetings, where its members presented their ongoing research: Fortaleza in 2007, Funchal in 2008, Rio de Janeiro in 2009, Évora in 2010, Natal in 2011, Coimbra in 2012, Búzios in 2013, the Douro Valley in 2014, Óbidos in 2015, Ouro Preto in 2016, Azores in 2017, Porto de Galinhas in 2018, Olhão in 2019, a virtual one in 2021 and in Bahia in 2022..

Call for Papers

The 16th Luso-Brazilian Finance Meeting will be held at the Vila Galé Braga 10 of July (Monday) to July 12, 2023 (Wednesday).

Braga is known as the “Portuguese Rome” as it was founded by the Romans over 2000 years ago under the name of Bracara Augusta and is one of the largest and oldest cities in Portugal. In this city there are many treasures to discover and experiences that leave no one out. Good gastronomy, beautiful monuments, religious and popular festivals, traditions and handicrafts. The city is about 45 minutes away from Porto by car, which is 54 km. Getting to Braga is also practical by train, bus, but by car is the fastest option via the A3. 

Authors are invited to participate and to submit papers in all areas of Finance: asset pricing, behavioural finance, corporate finance, mergers & acquisitions, corporate governance, derivatives, emerging markets, financial institutions, finance theory, market microstructure, mathematical finance, international finance, managerial accounting, and related topics. 

Meeting Format

The organizing committee will select eight to ten papers to be presented for 20 minutes each, followed by a 10 minute discussion. Other accepted papers will be presented in short sessions (10 minutes each), without assigned discussants.

Submission

Submissions must be sent electronically to any of the organizers listed below. In the email, please send your paper in PDF format, and let us know which author(s) will attend the meeting. There is no charge to submit to the Meeting.

Deadline

The deadline for submission is January 15th, 2023. We will send the decisions by February 15th. Registration deadline is March 15th.
